Good afternoon George.. ??Is my disklavier C5 easy to convert for use with the newer units (thinking 850).If so how much trouble and cost?I'm a one owner thinking about selling. And thinking upgrading first might be of help.My pristine Piano was purchased new for my recording studio, which I sold a fee years ago, and since I'm not really a piano player !Thank you,Richard in AZ

Richard, if your piano is a Mark IV, the DKC-850 does not apply.
If it is a Mark III or Mark IIXG, the DKC-850 is an excellent unit that will replace the original unit. (I would recommend, however, keeping the original unit with the piano.)
If the instrument is an older Mark II or the original "wagon grand,", it will connect to the piano using MIDI cables. In this case, it is not a complete replacement for the original control unit.
Which model do you have?
