RE: Is it normal that playback is louder than sound produced during recording?

2013-09-24 by <mqphan@...>

Mine is a new E3 and the dealer did not do anything to it with regard to calibration (other than tuning) before and after delivery. The unit has been in the house for a nearly a month. I wonder if I should run the calibration. In the User Manual, the only thing I could find was "Maintenance Mode" and under "Maintenance" are three options: 1. "Post Delivery Check", 2. "Program Versions", and 3. "Pedal Calibration." Can I get to Self-Calibration from "Post Delivery Check"? What is "Post Delivery Check" anyway? There are no specific instructions on "Self-Calibration" anywhere that I could find in the documents that came with the unit. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

you can also process the files to change the midi velocities. veloset works for single files and is very simple to use. my midimod2 program works on batches and is more flexible but more complicated. if anyone wants to use midimod2, contact me directly since the version on my web site is old and has some bugs. will update it some day.

if anyone wants an inline midi velocity modifier, i have one that i never use and would sell it.

Oh, BTW, you can get devices which allow you to modify the velocity curve for MIDI information (you'd have to run the file from an external source like a laptop or sequencer), but it would have an impact on the dynamics of the performance.
