RE: DKC-850 TG Volume Issue

2013-10-03 by <mqphan@...>

On my DGB1KE3 (DKC-800) the TG volume is also low. This is with a Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 that I purchased from Yamaha Music store (download option). It might be okay at full volume, but that would make the acoustic piano sound too loud. When I turn down the volume dial (in front of the control unit), the TG volume is much reduced, but the reduced volume acoustic piano sound is still relatively loud, making the difference between the two volume levels much more pronounced to the extent that the TG volume for orchestra is barely audible in this piano concerto when the dial is at -10 (minimum). I did adjust the TG balance on the control unit, but it did not make a big difference.

I learned that there is a software called MidiMod2 that could be used to lower the piano velocity data without lowering the TG volume, but I wasn't sure how to use the software when I tried to make the change. I don't know how to reduce the piano volume only with this software. I think that Veloset can be used to lower the volume, but it lowers both the piano and the background orchestra at the same time, so that does not help either.

Yes, I've noticed the same problem.
