RE: [disklavier] internet connection not successful first time

2013-11-26 by Geoff Ward

The same thing happens on my Mark IV. I have to let it settle down
(handshake?)for a few minutes. Sometimes it won't connect, even after
rebooting from full power off. Perseverance eventually gets it working -
programming deficiency, I guess.

I have the exact thing happening on my 850. I think that the internet code
is just poorly written and doesn't look for the IP address on immediate
power up or has some sort of handshaking bug in it.

I am in the middle of discussions with one of the top disklavier guys on
another issue. I will mention this one too.

Hi everyone:

Sometimes my Disklavier E3 has problem connecting to the internet for
Diskavier Radio/TV the first time around. The control display would say
"connection failed" or something like that the first time around. The error
code is (2012). If I keep trying a few times, then the internet connection
would be successful. Once it connects, I can disconnect and re-connect
without problems (to go back and forth from other non-internet sources such
as Memory, CD, USB and the internet for Disklavier Radio).

If I turn off the control unit and then on again, and try to connect to the
internet right away (as soon as the booting process is complete), the same
thing might happen again. I also noticed that after booting up the control
unit, if I wait a while before trying to connect to the internet, I was more
likely to succeed the first time around. The Disklavier has the latest
software version 3.52.

Does anybody have similar experiences? Thanks.
