Hi all,
I have been putting off buying the DKC-850 for my MarkIIXG since I am not sure how it handles, if it does, all my floppy disks that I have purchased from Yamaha over the years. I was told that there is a copyright issue that makes it necessary for me to keep the original operating system hardware, making the addition of the DKC-850 cumbersome (or the retention of the old floppy disk drive awkward).
With the DKC upgrade, can I download all my disks on its harddrive (one of the two major reasons I want an upgrade) so that they will all play without further programming? And second, with the upgrade can I purchase and play all the pianosoftplus (or whatever the most sophisticated prerecorded numbers for the piano
are called) material and play it on the disklavier?
I know that there have been many discussions about people not downloading copyrighted songs that they played on their disklavier to the web site, but when I bought the songs on the disks, it seems that the personal use on the new hard drive should be my right.
thanks
John Rank
