Re: [disklavier] Elton John

2014-03-14 by Wallace Lyle

Ah, Sir Elton.....

I have his Ecstatic for Elton CD that I purchased from a Yamaha dealer and I enjoy having him play my piano.

Sir Elton performed last evening at the Ford Theater in Beaumont, Texas about 100 miles East of Houston. I did not go, but my daughter and one of my wife's nurses made the trip. The nurse has spent years in the music business as a manager and promoter, and she said this was far and away the best concert she had EVER attended. I see some fabulous photos on Facebook from friends who live in the area and attended.

I think the man pays attention to detail!

Roger

Subject: [disklavier] Elton John

Good afternoon Disklavier folks,

Elton John has played
Yamaha Pianos for many years. He travels with several 9’ CFIIIS Silent Pianos
around the world. For a number of years Elton performed in Las Vegas on a very
red 9’ Disklavier Grand piano in a show called The Red Piano. During these many years I have had the pleasure to
work with Elton and his organization a number of times. The highlight of my
work with Elton was with the set up and prep of the most amazing piano Yamaha
has ever made for Elton - The Million
Dollar Piano.
This CFIIIS Silent piano
is a one-of-a-kind engineering marvel featuring more than 68 LED video screens,
which display imagery to complement each of the show's iconic songs. The piano
weighs in at nearly 3,200 pounds and is the brainchild of Elton and Yamaha
Entertainment Group founder Chris Gero and was designed by Yamaha industrial
designer Akie Hinokio. If you have a chance to see this show in Las Vegas,
I recommend that you go see it. If you are not able to see the actual live
show, you have a couple of opportunities to see the show when Elton John: The Million Dollar Piano comes
to a cinema near you!
Produced and Directed in
2012 by Yamaha Entertainment Group, this VIP Las Vegas cinema experience features all of
Elton's greatest hits from his legendary career including "Rocket
Man," "Tiny Dancer," "Your Song" and more. This will
be shown in theaters across the United States on March 18th and
March 26th. For much more information, visit: http://www.4wrd.it/MDP.
For
showings in other countries, visit: http://www.cinemalive.com/index.php?p=view&id=103 .

The Million Dollar Piano is
an amazing piano, played by Elton, in an incredible show. Make sure you see it.
Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!
