Mike, I won’t offer an opinion about the piano and its worthiness because I simply don’t know. Regarding dryness, I’ll point out the following: In the winter time, it is typical for cold, dry air to come into the house whenever a door is opened. The heating system heats the dry and reduces the relative humidity even further. Regardless as to what piano you own, in New England it is generally a good idea to keep the room where the piano is stored humidified.

We are in the process of buying what we now know as a gray market Yamaha Disklavier HQ300SX.After placing a deposit for half the cost, we did more research on the subject and found out that there could be problems with keeping it in tune, getting parts etc.We tried the piano and it sounds wonderful having been recently tuned. We live in NH so the climate is not dry like Arizona.Should we go ahead with the purchase or should we get our deposit back?Mike H.
