I just saw this thread and indeed it is a Java issue, nothing to do with IP or networking.

You will find that Apple actually advocates downgrading Java for a whole host of issues that arise from upgrading OS. In fact Apple has many users (including myself) working on a much earlier version (v6 in my case). Apple actually has a dedicated URL on Apple.com with an approved downgrade version for all OS versions up to El Capitain just for Java downgrading.

As mentioned in the previous post, Java upgrades can and do address security loopholes so it is worth balancing the pros and cons if the virtual PRC is essential to use vs say DKVbrowser which is far superior, again mentioned earlier.
