So, if I understand correctly, the files need to first be put into iTunes and then synced to my iPad. Midi files cannot be downloaded directly to my iPad ?

It does not require a Mac to install MIDI files into Sweet MIDI Player. It will update the Ipad with those songs.Whatever the name of the file is is what will show up in SMP. Disconnect the Ipad.In SMP, go to Settings, then scroll down to Sound then to Midi output. Choose Irig Midi (in my case) and SMP will output through that device (Irig Midi) which in turn is connected to your Midi In port on your piano.Best of luck. Let me know if I can help more.I have the Sweet Midi Player app installed on my iPad, but I can't figure out how to open a file from Disklavier World into Sweet Midi. They are zipped midi files. When I try to open a file, the only option that is presented, is open in iTunes U. That does not work. The iPad needs to play the Audio Midi sounds to the piano to play the keys.
