Problems with my wireless card/pin bent in computer

2015-12-28 by Shelley Bacon

Dear intelligent Disklavier owners,
I have tried to re-insert my wireless card into the computer on my Mark IV to no avail. The handheld remote and the piano/computer had failed to communicate with each other, and I had removed the wireless card from the piano/computer to take a look. Somehow, it appears a pin is now bent and I cannot get the wireless card re-inserted now! Ideas?
Alternately, I have tried for HOURS to get an Apple express to connect to the Disklavier, using every online tool/video/PDF I could find. Probably the most helpful file I found is this one: http://www.midiplayertools.com/Documents/GJairportexpress.pdf. However, when I get to the final steps and try to connect to the Disklavier, nothing works. The light on the Apple Express flashes yellow no matter what I do. My computer and the airport utility says the unit is working/ is showing a green light. But it lies. The unit itself does NOT show a green light.
I am one frustrated Disklavier owner. I needed to use the piano for my PA for a recent fundraiser in my home and wasn't able to get it to work due to the remote not connecting to the piano. It was after this event that I have spent countless hours trying to fix this issue. I don't like spending money on things I could do myself; I prefer to spend money on worthy projects like our peace initiative in N. Kenya and our local "tiny houses for the homeless" project (we raised money for both projects in December, the time I needed the piano for my PA!). Anyway, if someone could point me in the right direction, perhaps on Carol's site (i tried looking there too, but didn't seem to find anything that would help with this situation), I would be grateful.
By the way, I have tried controlling the piano from the DKV browser program on my computer (which worked at one time when I connected the piano via Ethernet to the router; that isn't working now either - the computer doesn't seem to recognize the piano) and from the "Droidklavier" app I installed on my phone. No luck. The piano isn't sending out or receiving a signal due to the lack of a functioning wireless card (I think!)
