We are are on the learning curve and practice & try out a new features each day from the manuals on our YU3SXG MarkIIXG silent disklavier … I’m glad we are working with 19 year old technology - it is our speed! :) Does anyone in this group have a YU3SXG MarkIIXG silent disklavier? We will be back in the States & wanted to get “must have equipment” for our disklavier as basically much of everything is unavailable in the Canary Islands and many retailers will not ship here. We are using the disklavier for home use for 4 people who are playing … 3 learning the piano. We have a pair of headphones and floppy disks coming with friends who are visiting next week. What are "must have equipment” for people using a disklavier like us who want to use it to its fullest? The manuals from that era obviously say to connect the computer (mac in our case) to the MarkIIXG unit via the host port (8-pin). However, I have not been able to find a cable on Amazon or the internet that goes from 8-pin disklavier unit to usb in mac. Am I correct in understanding there isn’t a 8-pin~usb cable on the market? If there isn't such a cable (8-pin~usb), could I connect the mac to the unit by a midi in/out to usb cable? I have seen many of these on the internet/amazon. If yes, would I need to move the switch by the host port of the unit to “mac”? Thank you so much for your help and any suggestions, Matt
