Hi mate,
Had exactly the same issue with the CD in Mark IV. I just used the first one from my storage and it worked well without a problem. So it is just a normal CD drive.
All the best,
Dmitry

Where can I get a replacement for the CD-ROM drive for the DKC 55RCD? A plastic piece broke off prohibiting a CD from remaining in the drive and thus a CD cannot be read. I forget what it was, but Yamaha wanted a ridiculous price for the drive (I think $400 as I recall from a while back). Is there anything special about the CD-ROM hardware or is all the magic done with the electronics and software? Could I kludge an external CD-ROM drive and then interface the output to the circuit board (provided I can make out the block diagrams and schematic from the service manual that I have)?I have consider the 850 as an entire replacement, but I am not interested at this time.TIA for any help and/or suggestions,Fred KagelNew Jersey
