Please refer to the post I wrote 10 days ago that just now made it to the 
list - Midi Files and the DKV.  Basically, you need to set your DKV so that 
L=1 and R=2, or Prg, or any number between 1 and 16.  Yamaha refers to MIDI 
files as "import files", and the User's Manual that came with your DKV 
explains this well. The MIDI data you want your DKV to play should be on 
Channel 1 or 2, so you may need to edit the MIDI file.

While playing a MIDI file, push the -> once and you should see that L=1.  
Probably R=## so both hands are not playing.  Whatever selections you make 
to change these settings will go away when you power down, unless you make 
these changes using Function mode.
