Re[2]: [disklavier] Search midi files by track Info?

2019-08-09 by Spencer Chase

i plan to just do the XP files because they will play on both DKV pro and also on any MIDI player that will ignore the XP controllers. it is also possible to edit out the XP data automatically.

once i have the database for the meta data put together, it only takes running a program that i wrote to put the data in the MIDI files. this program can be run on the regular MIDI files as long as the file names are made to match the names in the database. i discovered that there were some reused file names in the 2006 to 2011 competitions. the same performer was in comps for more than one year so the file names made out of the performer name with a round and sequence number was not unique. so i added the year to the file names for all files. this means that the database will not match the original file names. there are ways around this for anyone wanting to take the time to do some simple automatic file renaming.

Thanks Spencer,

Yes I have a mark II and play the files from my laptop.

Will you be doing just the XP files from the e competition website?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
