As I recall, the MX80 only plays ESEQ format midi files from a 720k floppy disk. It might be piano only because I don‘t think it has a daughter board with other midi sounds. However, for my customer that has one, we converted his original floppies to midi files and loaded them into Sweet Midi Player and played them thru the MD BT01 wireless interface and his iPhone. I remember that years ago we used an iRig Midi interface from his laptop. So yes, the MX80 will play midi files from a computer thru an interface. If you wanted to go retro, you could convert your midi files to ESEQ format and put them on a floppy disk using a utility program so your computer would see the disk.
