can't find the original message from Kevin so replying here.

How did you get all the messages from the groups? I am trying to use PG offline 4 to do so with another group and the process is taking forever and crashes often. I have about 130000 of 150000 messages downloaded and am getting all sorts of download errors. I am at a hotel using their wifi and it may not be a great connection. so far it has taken something like 15 hours of intermittent downloading?

I have successfully archived all of the emails (no attachments, or files) from both dkvbrowser and disklavier yahoo groups as of this morning. It isn't in a great format, but at least nothing is actually lost.

At least we can preserve the history that way.

Hi,

Pianoworld uses a platform called UBB, a commercial platform. There are other platforms that are free, open source. Many BBs platforms are run on one of these.

Here is a comparison of UBB with other platforms:

phpBB is the mostly used, popular and relatively easy to set up. Here is their homepage:

I am offering to help with the installation and setup if others are interested. I have extensive experience (almost 15 years) with the platforms (LAMP stack) required for this software.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
