Disklavier

On the subject of formatting with the PC, hopefully you have at least
one PC that is not running Windows XP.  For some unknown reason, the
great monopolist (MS), in its infinite wisdom, removed formatting
support for the 720k format in XP.  I'm not sure about Win 2000, I never
checked.  They're almost impossible to find at the stores, but on the
web you can find pre-formatted 720's at great bulk prices.

The suggestion that you received to format the disk on the PC first is a
good 
one. Note, however, that if you format on a Windows computer, you must
be 
careful to tell the computer that you are formatting a 720K disk as the 
computer does not seem to recognize the type of disk by its physical 
attributes. A Macintosh will format it correctly if you choose the PC
option.
