It is not the computer that makes the difference but the operating system. Both the Mac and PC basic architecture are fine although the Mac is probably superior in certain ways that I do not care to debate.
Everyone, with a brain, has to admit that everything Microsoft does is far short of the mark. They are worried about keeping their near monopoly and not much else. They provide as little in terms of quality software (especially the os) as they can possible get by with, without a revolt. Their software is inflexible and absolutely full of annoying bugs that they never bother to correct from one version to the next. Microsoft is trying to establish a religion, not Apple. Dos was the last real program that Microsoft ever wrote. From there it was, tow the Microsoft line or else spend your whole life working around it.
If it were not for the fact that I use my computers to run custom software that I can not afford to have rewritten and that this software is firmly committed to running in real DOS, not emulated dos. I would have switched to the Mac years ago.
I own about 6 or seven PCs and wish I need none of them. Win 98 se is the last Microsoft os I will ever buy. Some day I will be able to afford to have the few programs I need, converted to run under Linux and then screw Microsoft.
