Good morning, everyone.

In total, there will be MIDI files for 23 fabulous pianists up on the web
site this week. At the moment, MIDI files for 7 of the contestants have been
posted. Hopefully the rest will be posted within a day. The reason for the
delay is that each contestant played an hour-long program in the
Preliminaries that was recorded, in most cases, as a single MIDI file. It has
been a time-consuming process to take each long MIDI file and to chop it up
correctly into individual pieces.

The files that have been posted are clearly labelled with underlines that
indicate an available link. You can right-click (Windows) or control-click
(Macintosh) on these links and download the files to a floppy disk. Each file
name contains the name of the artist for future reference. When you put the
disk into your Disklavier, you will see the name of each piece and the name
of the artist (to the extent that these items can be displayed in 32
characters).

Please note that the web site lists the screening audition programs for each
contestant. These programs were not recorded. Also, each contestant's page
lists the solo piece that the contestant intends to play IF he/she makes it
to the finals. Only six contestants make it to the finals. Their MIDI files
should be available this weekend.
