If you use the To Host connection, set the switch to Mac (for Macintosh) or to PC2 (for a US Windows computer) or to PC1 (for a Japanese Windows computer). If you use MIDI cables, set the switch to MIDI. If you are using the To Host connection with a Macintosh, you will connect the other end of the serial cable to either the Modem or the Printer port. As far as the Macintosh is concerned, you are using a standard serial MIDI interface (which is actually built into the Disklavier's control unit). If you are using the To Host connection with a Windows computer, you must install the Yamaha CBX driver AND configure your MIDI software so that it understands that it should communicate with the serial port.
