OK folks - I *think* I just found out a way to format 720Kb double density floppies in Windows XP. Here's how: 1. Have at hand one FORMATTED and BLANK double density floppy disk - let's call it disk A; and another double density floppy that you want to format - lets call it disk B. 2. Insert disk A into your floppy drive. Go to My Computer -> right-click on the floppy drive -> select "Copy Disk". 3. Press [Enter] to let disk A be the source disk, wait. 4. When prompted, eject disk A and insert disk B. Press [Enter] to let disk B be the destination disk, wait again... and voila. Tested out once and it worked. And for that matter, your "disk A" doesn't necessarily need to be blank - after the image copying is done, WinXP can delete the duplicated files from "disk B". ***I know this is a bit round-about and I'd much prefer having a program that does this job - unfortunately the market is probably too small for somebody to write one. I've tried copying different versions of format.com to WinXP, but didn't work. The above method is the only one that worked for me without requiring the use of another computer (the only thing you do need is a formatted double density disk to be the source). Hope this is of some help for people who have older Disklaviers and Windows XP computers!
