Re: [disklavier] Disk file format

2002-12-13 by Carol Beigel

I don't have answers - just suggestions! Since Yamaha uses proprietary
software, I'm not sure you can exactly duplicate the format. My suspicions
are the proprietary stuff is where the pedaling and percussion tracks are
assigned.

You can title a regular MIDI file using sequencer software that displays on
the CVP. I've seen titles on Yamaha's XG Works 3.0.

Perhaps one of those files is a song title manager with a maximum of 5 files
allowed on the disk.

Giebler software at www.giebler.com may have a program for the Clavinova
that might do exactly what you want. It sure works for the Disklavier (YDM
and DOMSMF). You can title songs and convert MIDI files to the ESEQ, Yamaha
proprietary format for DKVs.

Also, what does the owner's manual that came with your CVP say about making
your own disks?
