Disklavier

Jeff, a possible alternative tool for what you are considering is 
Cakewalk's SONIC or PG Music's Power Tracks and a program for converting 
files from E-SEQ to MIDI such as the Giebler Utilities or the free 
DKUtils (if the last works for you).  Using the MIDI or "To Host" 
interface between the DKV and computer, you can easily mute or enable 
any combination of tracks that you wish.  You can also save your 
customized version of the song to MIDI and keep it on a diskette that 
you would play from the DKV's control box.

If you would like to modify a song so that you could play the piano part 
at the keyboard and be accompanied, you will probably want to insert a 
count-in sequence--say four lightly tapped high treble notes at tempo. 
That's quite easy to do with the above setup.
