In one word GREED.
Why sell a CD with hundreds of songs on when you can sell one with 8 
on for £30.
If Yamaha were to fill a CDrom up with Midi or Pianosoft files it 
would cost more then the Disklavier itself.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
