I have a Disklavier Grand Piano (acoustic) with the separate big black Control Wagon and a big umbilical cord that joins them. Over 12 years old, it is a G2 R 49XXXXX series piano and the separate Control Wagon model is a DKW10. The floppy drive stopped reading and writing diskettes about 5 years ago and we were cut off from our music collection. I've tried to get a replacement floppy, but the local Yamaha repairman can't find one and it's not a generic PC floppy mechanism. I recently got frustrated and hooked up an old Mac computer running sequencer software and we are now enjoying the player functions again and an endless collection of piano music in MIDI file format from the internet. Have any other members with old floppy-based systems had drive problems and found a solution to replace it? Ultimately I can live without it, but I would like to access all of the PianSoft disks I collected over the years. If all else fails, I'll buy Geibler's conversion software and salvage my Disklavier disk collection as MIDI files. P.S. - I just joined the group and I already love it! I'm not alone with my aging Disklavier anymore.
