Aaron, The Yamaha control track sounds quite different from the MidiMan control track. Maybe Yamaha recommended the MidiMan encoder because the Disklavier is capable of playing QRS' format, which does use the MidiMan encoding? (Yamaha does not provide a software or hardware encoder for their own format.)
