[EDITED] I was told that > there were tons of MIDI files "out there" to download to play on my > Disklavier. > > I was told that there was rock, blues, jazz, country--and that not all > piano music for the Disklavier is classical. > > me--I've discovered that there really isn't much recorded in MIDIS that On the contrary...yes, there is a lot of stuff out there, but a lot of them is not very good. If you like jazz try: http://members.aol.com/Towerwrath/splash.html http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/Delta/3469/ ** all the sites I've found were through search engins using "MIDI" "midi Piano" "jazz midi"....etc. as the subject to search for....also follow the links from most of these sites...then you'll really be surfing. Also, the HAL MUSIC, ALFRED...and some other music publisher's homepages offer links to many good sites. there are several ways to down load there files but I like to listen to them first then save them directly using the sequencer program or you can "right click" on the song name and click on "save target as..." this opens a window where you can select the location where to save the file...pick "A:" stick a disk in drive "A"(for example) and edit the file name if you want to (but make sure it's a midi file you're downloading ...when you're satisfied click on SAVE. the reason i say to check the file type is because sometimes there website operators only allow you to listen to their music and what you might actually be doing is downloading a "html" page. anyways, this is my favorite way to down load...it's faster this way. LATER, you can always open up the files you've downloaded to edit them or delete them if you don't like them. only after, you've collected, you favorite songs, and you've got them playing in the background should you be really able to lean back and enjoy your glass of wine. (w/in limits of course) good luck, enjoy.
