Is climate controlled storage available? It would be worth the investment to keep the humidity around the piano about 55% to protect the soundboard and piano action. PIanos are not necessarily sensitive to temperature changes, but are very, very much affected by high humidity. Storing the piano on its side is all right. The best storage would be to leave it with a trusted friend or relative, or climate controlled storage. Otherwise, consider taking it with you. Two moves by qualified movers are probably not as hard on the instrument as years in storage.
