Hello:
I'm new to this group, and I really appreciate the postings I've
read in the past few days. I have learned a lot about Disklavier. I
don't own one yet, but I'm certainly moving in that direction. I'm a
composer/improvisor, and having one of these instruments
would be a tremendous resource for me. I presently have a
Bechstein grand made in 1886 and a Yamaha P-80 piano. The
grand is literally on it's last legs, and I don't intend to invest any
more in it...the pinblock has turned to powder, and it needs to be
completely rebuilt.

I have many midi files recorded on my Yamaha P-80 stage
piano. My immediate goal is to have several of these "rendered"
on a DKV, preferably a grand, 6 feet or larger. I have been
reading with interest about the possibilities of using a laptop
with a Disklavier. Would anyone in this group be able to refer me
to either a studio or an individual somewhere in the northeastern
USA with a large DKV upon which I might play and record my
midi files? I'm not looking for a freebie, so I'll make it worthwhile.
I did send a file to a studio in CA with a C-7 DKV, and they
promptly returned an audio recording with pretty amazing
accuracy, but the piano need considerable voicing and
regulating, and I'm a little nervous about doing this project long
distance. Thanks to all the posters, and thanks for reading this
long message!
Sincerely,
Glenn Hardy
