You most certainly can play your DKV from a computer. For quite a few years now, I've kept my MIDI collection on a CD-R. I've converted my PianoSoft collection to MIDI files using the Giebler Utility. I can easily locate what I'm looking for by using Window's "Find" facility, as I have given all of the files long descriptive names. (Long ago, I gave up trying to index and organize a big box of floppies in their silly crystal cases.) I happen to use Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 as the sequencer that drives the DKV's MIDI port. That application allows me to keep playlists (the answer to your jukebox interest). PG Music's Power Tracks program would be less expensive than Cakewalk and will do the sequencing job just as well. I have a MidiSport 1 X 1 (USB) interface attached to the laptop that I use. There is one annoyance that I should mention that pertains to Mark II DKVs. . . If the file you are playing has continuous sustain pedal directed to channel 3, then you will want to set up the DKV's MIDI input for "CH=HP"; otherwise, if the file has only On/Off pedal directed to channel 1, the DKV's MIDI input should be set for "CH=01". (This annoyance could be fixed by modifying the latter-type MIDI files, by directing the On/Off pedal to channel 3 thus allowing the DKV MIDI Input to be left at "CH=HP". frankmzz wrote: > Would it be possible to play piano music in midi file format from my PC and the PC midi > output connected to the MX100B midi input?.
