The instructions for Receiving Data From A MIDI Sequencer are in the Advanced Owners manual that came with your Disklavier - my dark red manual has it on page 72. Basically, the piano keys play whatever is on Channels 1 or 2 of the MIDI file unless you change the settings. You press the Function button and put the cursor on Piano Part and follow the prompts. To be sure that all tracks on the MIDI file play the piano, I use the gnmidi utility software and simple push a single button "prepare program for Pianodisc". This creates a MIDI 0 file that puts all the tracks on Channel 1. If you want the Disklavier to play a sound on the computer, you also need to add an additional MIDI cable between the MIDI OUT on the DKV to the MIDI IN on your computer interface.
