If you have a MarkII, you can purchase a DSR1, which is a control box that upgrades your system to a MarkIIXG. This gives you flash memory, a floppy drive that plays both HD and DD disks, and XG Ensemble sounds. Then, the DCD1 is the CD player that can be added. This would allow you to play Yamaha and other CDs that play your Disklavier while hearing people singing on the audio. If your intention is to continue to upgrade so that you can use the new PianoSmart with the DCD1, you might also need to purchase extra memory. Piano Smart is the ability to record or play a piano performance that plays in sync with a CD. This may also be true if you already have a MarkIIXG system (therefore not needing the DSR1 upgrade) and intend to use Piano Smart.
