In an earlier post, a solution for formatiing a
720K disk on an XP machine was given that has been successful for me.

In Windows XP ( from the MSDOS command prompt
); Format a: / t:80 / n:9
This has never failed on the XP machines I use but
this doesn't mean it works universally.
