RE: [disklavier] Problem with conversion using ESEQ2MIDI

2003-10-28 by Sheldon Deluty

that is correct!!

until i recently upgraded the player unit on my mark ii to the supeior xg
unit (as per the sage recommendation of the delphic oracle of yamaha pianos,
pianobench@...), i kept a laptop with windows 95 specificallyjust to run
giebler

i tried every which way to get giebler to run on xp, but it won't

alternatively, you could use partition magic to partition a small piece of a
hard drive, install windows 95 and boot into that partition when you need to
(i am sure windows 95 disks are still floating around) and run giebler

the program is fairly inexpensive (less than $30??) and i think giebler
still sells it

Sheldon's warning is true. Pay close attention to the caveats on
  Giebler's Web page:

"All programs run under MS-DOS on IBM PC-XT, PC-AT, or compatibles with
a hard disk drive and a 3 1/2" floppy disk drive. Most programs may be
run under an MS-DOS shell under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 or
  Windows ME."

You may have to keep an antique computer around to use the Giebler
program. E-SEQ is sort of an antique too, isn't it?
