...But an MX-100 can play MIDI from 720k floppies with the latest 
firmware.  I rang Yamaha in Japan and they sent me the latest 
firmware chip (to the UK) for the princely sum of $4 including 
shipping.  Plug this chip in in place of the existing one in the 
control box (not too tricky really) and it will play MIDI files from 
floppy...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
