Do you mean that it cannot be downloaded from the archives? Everyone that
reads the mailing list as a conventional mailing list (ie getting the
messages through email, not as a digest) would be fine, it would only be
those that use the horrible web interface to access the archives that
wouldn't be able to get the file. Since the file area has been full
recently, I don't see a problem with sending files as attachments.

Regarding the file storage space problem - I am quite happy to donate as
much space as required on my server. I can set up a subdomain of
disklavier.org fairly quickly with a FTP and web-based upload system if
that would help?

If we are all going to start bitching, how about people try and remember
to only quote relevent parts of the message when replying rather than
including the whole thread, and bottom posting? It isn't very difficult to
delete irrelavent parts of the text, and I imagine that the digest version
of the list gets impossible to read quite easily - especially when people
are quoting the huge group signature all the time (the message I replied
to contained at least three copies of the signature block, plus a lot of
other trash such as "do you yahoo?" webmail signatures).

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
