Larry, I would like to thank you for posting the midi file - we had it playing during our Christmas dinner today and everyone enjoyed it. It made a really welcome change to the usual CD's that we had on. Regards, James

Glad you enjoyed it. The file was made a few years back by a friend of mine in Florida. He is a great jazz pianist. There are some files of his in the files section, mostly gospel. --- James Fry <groups@...> wrote: > On Fri, 26 Dec 2003, midi_magic2000 wrote: > > Why do poeple still send attachments when they > know they will not be > > saved. > > Larry, > > I would like to thank you for posting the midi file > - we had it playing > during our Christmas dinner today and everyone > enjoyed it. Playerkenn's comment is clearly in error. It is not clear what he means to say in referring to an "attachment" as being "stored.". The midi file was attached to the posting I received. It played perfectly for me and for persons to whom I thereafter forwarded it. Many thanks to Larry for the thoughtful Christmas gift of a full hour of pleasant holiday music. Everyone that reads the mailing list as a conventional mailing list (ie getting the messages through email, not as a digest) would be fine, it would only be those that use the horrible web interface to access the archives that wouldn't be able to get the file. Since the file area has been full recently, I don't see a problem with sending files as attachments. Regarding the file storage space problem - I am quite happy to donate as much space as required on my server. I can set up a subdomain of disklavier.org fairly quickly with a FTP and web-based upload system if that would help? If we are all going to start bitching, how about people try and remember to only quote relevent parts of the message when replying rather than including the whole thread, and bottom posting? It isn't very difficult to delete irrelavent parts of the text, and I imagine that the digest version of the list gets impossible to read quite easily - especially when people are quoting the huge group signature all the time (the message I replied to contained at least three copies of the signature block, plus a lot of other trash such as "do you yahoo?" webmail signatures). That's OK gang. The file is posted in the files section already in the Jazz Piano folder. Go to this link and download it from there.
