RE: [disklavier] Re: DGA1XG (was reply...)

To Carol and Piano Bench,

It seems that the dealer did a switch on me and did not give me the
grand I picked out in his showroom and then add the DKV to it. He told
me it would take a few weeks to install all the DKV parts, but was
probably checking all his stores for the MarkII XG. I guess I am happy
with what I have and will investigate the purchase of a DSR1. Do you
have any idea of the cost of this unit? Can I order it from Yamaha, or
do I have to go through a dealer?

Thanks for helping out an uneducated user. If I had known about DUG
before I purchased the piano, I could have dealt more intelligently with
the dealer, although he gave me a good price and took our KAWAI digital
piano in on trade.

The DGA1XG is what you have. It is a play-only MarkII XG Disklavier.
It it
NOT a DGA1 which is a MarkIII unit. It can only be upgraded with a
DSR1.
No way will a MarkIII control unit with a built-in CD player ever work
on
this unit. You got an acoustic piano with digital playback
capabilities.
