I would highly recommend that you check out the annual supplement to The Piano Book by Larry Fine. I think that for those of us who are not in the industry, and are first time buyers, it gives a nice review on what a "fair" price is, as well as typical "list" prices for the different models. The actual book "The Piano Book" also by Larry Fine is also a great tool for first-time buyers, runs through all kinds of things about use and care that a lot of people don't think about before they buy. As for what people paid, there is a database on the Yahoo Groups site that people have put their info on (I listed my C2 DKV on there, and there are quite a few others as well.) As you will see, there is quite a bit of wiggle room on the pricing, depending on region and whether you are willing to buy from an out of town dealer or not. Even if you are committed to buying locally and they won't move on price, there are lots of extras that you can get them to throw in to sweeten the deal and make the experience better- software, additional tunings, lessons, etc. The dealer I purchased from offered an extremely fair price without any haggling, and will send a rep to my house to run through specific features as I start using them, or when I want to know more things about the DKV functionality. Happy shopping (and once you have it, you'll wonder why you didn't buy it sooner.)
