Re: Win XP zips of 2004 Piano e-Competition

2004-02-08 by Jorge Fernandez

Walter:
I just downloaded one of the ZIP with XP (For DKV pro) just to check.

I found every thing OK, once unziped, the files came to a subdir and
then the files themselves.

They payed fine on my PC (I do no think it use any of the PRO info
but at least it played) I could not tell any more because my DKV is
an upright silent NOT a PRO.

But the files and the UNZIP worked fine, so the problem shluld be
somewere else.

For example the same MID with DKV PRO info is 80 kb instead of 31 KB
in the one I use in my DKV (Mark IIIXG?).

I have a PC with WIN XP and winzip ver. 7

Have a nice day.

clicked on them and nothing appeared. Is it possible that they are
in a zip format incompatible with Windows XP? If so, then this is
the first time I ever encountered zip files that XP could not
handle. If that's the case, then maybe someone would be so kind as
to repackage them and post them on this group's still empty e-
competition 2004 files section in a zip format that's compatable
with Win XP. (If not, I would be happy to do this for the group but
I'm going away for a few days so I can't do it right away. I will
have to try WinZip or one of the other ones suggested such as
Stuffit Expander suggested by Piano Bench. I hesitate to do that
because some programs try to take over your computer. Winzip took
over my other XP machine and now I can't open zip files as easily as
I can with XP on my laptop here by the piano. I kind of like XP's
way of doing it. There are fewer steps with XP than with WinZip) I
realize Apple

Apple. (You should see what he can do with video and audio.)
However, I am still stuck down here with the masses who have to
suffer with Win XP.
