No Disklavier, even the latest, can play mp3 files. However, this MX100A should be able to play Yamaha PianoSoft (piano solo) diskettes and those are 720K. You'd be amazed how much music a 720K diskette can hold. With appropriate software (Giebler Yamaha Diskette Manager - www.giebler.com and Power Tracks - www.pgmusic.com) you can convert MIDI files to play on that instrument. It is generally acknowledged that Disklaviers get a lot more miles on them than just a home piano. Perhaps this one entertained every night in a pub? You will want an expert opinion on its condition before making your offer. You need to pay a piano technician to take a look at it. The technician can also give you a fair market appraisal of its market value and the cost to put it in good condition. You may wish to use that appraisal in negotiating a price. Don't be discouraged if find that this piano needs some work--just temper your offer accordingly. Pianos don't rust and can be repaired or rebuilt to play like new.
