I have managed to find authorized out of state dealers who are
beating the local dealer's quote by several thousand dollars. And
yes it is for the 'exact' same model including shipping.
I mentioned to the local dealer that I would be looking out of
state to compare pricing. He said, "How are you going to get it
serviced?" He was right. I haven't found a local independent
technician. It doesn't seem possible here. Great way to start a
business relationship: coercing the customer.
I am so dissappointed at the attempt by the local dealer to
Buffalo me, I have exactly zero desire to go back and talk to the
local dealer.
Even thought I like the Yamaha Disklavier electronics better.
It looks like I have to buy some other brand piano with PianoDisc
installed. I can find several independent PianoDisc qualified
technicians locally who come well recommended. I can get at least two
quotes for the other piano brands within a short drive.
Anyone think this was the result corporate Yamaha desired? Oh
well...
Lastly, for all of you who were so helpful in my research --
thank you! This is a nice user group with lots of very helpful
people. Thank you one and all.Message
