This reasoning makes sense for someone who owns an older disklavier, but I am disappointed that the Mark IV's upgrade process continues to depend on old technology. It is perfectly easy to burn files onto CD these days. In my opinion, the Mark IV should not require anything but a CD for upgrading. Even better would be to be able to transmit everything over wireless or ethernet and avoid removable media altogether. But I guess these issues will always be relevant; as the industry transitions to newer and better storage technologies, there are always periods in which both the old and new technologies must coexist.
