Re: [disklavier] copyprotected pianosoft disks

2005-08-10 by Robert Welcyng

There are several ways to backup PianoSoft diskettes.

One way is to use the DKV utilities available for downloading on this
Yahoo Group.

Another is to purchase the Giebler Yamaha Disk Manager program. See
www.giebler.com. This program requires a true DOS maichine. It
recognizes and abides by Yamaha's copy-protected diskettes--you cannot
copy the diskette directly. However, you can copy each of the song
files and reconstruct a non-protected copy of the original diskette..

My suggestion for back-up is to put all your PianoSoft backup material
on a single CD rather than 2DD floppies.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
