There are several ways to backup PianoSoft diskettes.

One way is to use the DKV utilities available for downloading on this
Yahoo Group.

Another is to purchase the Giebler Yamaha Disk Manager program. See
www.giebler.com. This program requires a true DOS maichine. It
recognizes and abides by Yamaha's copy-protected diskettes--you cannot
copy the diskette directly. However, you can copy each of the song
files and reconstruct a non-protected copy of the original diskette..

My suggestion for back-up is to put all your PianoSoft backup material
on a single CD rather than 2DD floppies.

No, at this time Disklaviers cannot play CDs with MIDI or E-SEQ (.fil) data files on them. However, one thing you can do is to connect a laptop computer to your Disklavier and play your files using a sequencer program such as Power Tracks, Sonar, Cakewalk, or others.

I must also note that the YamPlayer will put native
Yamaha ESEQ files into playlists as well. No other
program does this to my knowlege.
