Re: [disklavier] Buying a DGT2IIXG

2005-09-12 by Rick Conti

Here's a third man's opinion disagreeing with both men's opinion. I have owned a DGT2IIXG for the last 4 years and have enjoyed every minute. Numerous people have been to my house that are very good at playing the piano and can't believe how much mine sounds and feels like an acoustic piano. I bought mine because I didn't have enough room in my house for even a baby grand. I can practice playing my "not real' piano in the morning before I go to work and not wake up the entire house because it is completely digital. My daughter's can practice playing the piano while we're watching TV and we don't miss a thing. Can you do that with a "real" piano? I think NOT. My piano isn't temperature sensitive nor does it require tuning. I do agree with Todd about getting a better price. So, therankinhouse, there is a third opinion, but one who likes what you're thinking about buying. Rick

Here's a second man's opinion agreeing with one man's opinion. The
dealer I first spoke to tried to sell me one. Sure is pretty. But it is
not a piano. I hear they are great if you want to haul a piano
look-alike to weddings, etc. I put that kind of money into a MX100XGII
with upgraded memory and powered speakers and I have a real piano.

We're going to be moving sometime this coming year. I might end up
selling mine.
