Apologies if this has been mentioned on the list before: I was recently researching something to put into the wiki and found this interesting tool by accident: http://blind.ky.gov/lcdinfo.asp In summary - it is a unit that can read the LCD screen of many "simpler" devices (eg two line text LCD's) and convert the output to speech. They list it working with older units such as the DKC100R and DKW10, but other modules can be adapted if they use the right display controller (the standard Hitachi HD44780 series chips). The speech unit connects into the display connector inside the control unit and captures copies of all commands sent to the display, before converting it to speech. Obviously it is of no use to Mark IV owners, but owners of previous models might find it useful (a Mark IV owner might be able to use it if they purchase a DSR1?) Regards James
