The key movement is controlled by whatever MIDI information is contained on Channels 1 and 2 of the data file. The settings for this are covered in the Advanced section of your owner's manual under "Import Files". A quick way to see what is happening is to press the -> while the file is playing. The window you see tells it all. Where there are blinking lights, those are the channels that contain the MIDI information. You will also see something at the top like L=1 and perhaps R=##. That is part of the problem. R=2 or Prg. Use the function keys to set this under Piano Part. The big circles represent L and R, so there is usually a big circle on channel 1which is L. For MIDI files you obtain that were not created for keyboard or no information for channel 1 or 2, use the GNMIDI program option to "create PianoDisc" or something like that. It creates a MIDI 0 file that puts all the data on Channel 1. Hope this helps.
