Here are the instruction from the Yamaha manual on setting the Mark III
controller to receive MIDI data on Channels 1 & 2.
1. Press FUNC
2. Press the right arrow key until the cursor is next to
the MIDI setup option, then press ENTER.
3. With the cursor next to the Piano Part option, press
ENTER
4. With the cursor next to the Piano Rcv Ch parameter, use
the -/NO and +/Yes buttons to
select Rcv Ch=1+2.
Carol also provided instruction for optioning the Mark III to play all
tracks of a MIDI file, so you can set it either way. I keep mine on Ch=1+2,
because I don't want other instrumental tracks to play. But you may want it
to do so. Either way will work just fine with Van Basco.
While you are in the window where you set the receive channel to
CH=1+2, be sure to set the Delay In parameter to
(500)ms=ON, else the MIDI files will not play correctly
and sound awful.
