Re: lyrics on external screen

2006-11-03 by jheitzeb1

Yes, the words for a karaoke midi do display on the Mark IV tablet. I have a Mark IV and
have tested this feature.

The format for the karaoke files must be "midi" tune 1000 format.

I also used a program GNMidi to take .kar (karaoke files) that I find on the internet and
change them to Tune 1000 type midis with lyrics that worked great on the disklavier.
Most of the karaoke files on the internet are not that good if you like just piano. But at
least you can use them to test the feature on your tablet.

You can find info on GNMidi at http://www.gnmidi.com/. They have a demo version
online that works for 5 days ... not sure if it has the .kar to Tune 1000 type midi option
available in the demo version.

It is a great program, but not available for the Macintosh. I prefer Macintosh software, but
have an old PC I use with this program on occassion.

Hope this helps.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
